XIANGQI STUDIO

XIANGQI STUDIO is a Beijing tailoring label founded in 2012 by Lin Wei. Xiangqi is Chinese chess, a game he played every evening with his grandfather in a hutong courtyard, and the studio borrows its calm: clean lines, deliberate moves, nothing wasted.

The work is rebuilt tailoring. Jackets lose their collars and lapels, shoulders soften, trousers fall straight and wide, and greys and blacks do most of the talking. It is clothing for people who want to look composed without looking stiff.

Each piece is cut and finished in the studio's own workshop in Beijing.
